Goals:

  • Encourage Students to Explore the World, Expand their Horizon and Express themselves in writing
  • Award Scholarship funds to winners of our Essay Competition.
  • Provide fun, adventurous stories for both children and young adults.

Mount Fuji

rises to 12,388ft at its peak and lies on the main Japanese island of Honshu, Japan. Japan is part of a string of volcanic Islands on the Pacific rim, Known together as ‘The Ring of Fire’. The oldest lavas on Mount Fuji have been dated as only 8,000 years old, making it a very young Volcano.

The Great Sahara Desert, Africa

is the largest hot desert in the world. It sprawls over the northern part of Africa stretching 3,200 miles from Egypt and the Sudan to the West coasts of Mauritania and Spanish Sahara. One of the hottest places is Kebili, where temperatures can reach 131° F.
